Key Scriptures: Ephesians 6:16; Hebrews 11:1; Matthew 21:21.
Above all, taking the shield of faith, with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one.
Most believers know the definition of Faith (Now Faith is the Substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen – Hebrews 11:1); but how we live it out is determined by what we perceive the “fiery darts” to be.
The “Word of Faith” movement will have you believe that the fiery darts are anything you don’t want such as Sickness, Poverty and Tragedy, and if we have “enough faith” we will be able to shield ourselves from these afflictions.
If we unpack Matthew 21:21 however, the key Scripture for the “word of Faith” guys, we reveal that it has a completely different meaning, and conclude that the fiery darts are much more likely to be Doubt, Uncertainty and Unbelief. Ironically, these darts are frequently hurled at believers by the Word of Faith movement on the Devil’s behalf!
